Sottsass wins Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

Sottsass won a vintage renewal of Europe’s premier Championship race when storming to victory in the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp, beating many multiple Group 1 winners including dual Arc winner Enable.

This was yet another major update for the Dubawi yearling half-sister to Sottsass that Oliver bought only a few weeks before at Arqana’s September Yearling sale. Though Oliver paid €2,500,000 for her, she now looks even better value after this win and the strength of the market at Tattersalls October Book 1 Yearling sale.

At the Tattersalls October Book 1 Yearling sale – Europe’s premier yearling sale – Oliver paid 2,700,000 guineas for a very athletic strong Kingman half-brother to English 2,000 Guineas winner, Galileo Gold. Bred by Colin Murfitt’s Pantile Stud, this gorgeous colt was bought with Fawzi Nass for Bahraini interests and will be entrusted to Roger Varian for his training career.
