A slightly scary decision

February was the first month of Oliver St. Lawrence Bloodstock following me going my own way following on from 10 very happy years in partnership with Johnny McKeever in McKeever St. Lawrence.  It was a slightly scary decision I made to leave the comfort of a successful partnership but one that I felt need to do.  My office is up at the stud I have managed for Bahraini Fawzi Nass since 2007 – Aislabie Stud in Stetchworth just outside Newmarket.

I had a great start being the leading buyer at the small Tattersalls February Sale with 8 purchases that included 5 horses to go to Saudi Arabia, one to Bulgaria and one for Lambourn trainer Mark Usher.  I only bought one more filly at Goffs February sale to complete the second pallet of horses to Saudi Arabia.

Aislabie Stud is keeping me busy with foals arriving, mares starting to go off to the stallions etc. otherwise it is a fairly quite month.

There are few sales to attend in March but I will be at Goffs Kempton Breeze-Up on Friday 12th March (in 2009; 58 sold for a median of £12,500)
