Arthur joined Oliver St Lawrence Bloodstock as a bloodstock agent in 2021, having spent over a decade working in the thoroughbred industry.

Coming from an equestrian background, racing has always been at the centre of Arthur’s life. After a short-lived attempt to become a jockey ended after Arthur grew to 6 foot 5, his first job in the thoroughbred industry was at world famous Highclere Stud, breeders of great horses such as Camelot and Commissioning, where he spent four years getting great insight into breeding at the top end and allowing him to learn from Lady Carolyn Warren and John Warren, purchaser of Derby winner Motivator.

Arthur has gained a large database of international contacts, having spent years working abroad in Racing and Breeding, including years spent at Northern Farm and Racing in Japan, ARG Sales and Haras Vacacion in Argentina as well Arrowfield Stud and Paul Messara Racing in Australia.

On his return from abroad, Arthur spent a year working as Pupil Assistant at Ed Bethell Racing during the time of Group 1 winner Regional before joining Oliver St Lawrence Bloodstock full time. Arthur is also as an accomplished rider. In 2023, he completed the world’s longest horse race, the gruelling Mongol Derby, covering a staggering 1300 kilometres in ten days which pushes riders to spend 13 to 14 hours daily in the saddle on semi-wild horses.

In his first three years, Arthur from limited numbers and budget has purchased over fifty winners, with highlights being multiple Black-type winner Dilawar and Listed placed Bolt Action, as well as highly rated performers Searchingtheblues and Nazron. He’s also purchased for many overseas clients, purchasing local Group 1 winners in six different countries, as well as mares and stallions.
