Bradsell Wins the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes

The amazing Bradsell came back from injury to secure the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes, his second Group 1 victory, to confirm himself as one of the best sprinters around beating Group 1 winners Big Evs and Asofoora in the process. It was a brilliant training performance by Archie Watson to get Bradsell back to his very best. Where Bradsell goes next is up to his trainer & owner Victorious Racing, but he’ll definitely be very tough to beat wherever he decides to go.

While Bradsell’s achievements are fantastic he hasn’t been the only Group 1 winner purchased by Oliver St Lawrence in the last month. Calif, trained by Carlos & Yann Lerner, led a successful raid into Germany winning the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis Bayerisches Zuchtrennen in Munich. Purchased by Oliver from the Arqana Arc Sale 2023, this son of Areion has been a revelation this year and he’s another Victorious owned horse that will be competing at the top level in future.

There has also been a great deal of success with the OSL purchased Two-year-olds. Serving With Style, trained by Karl Burke and owned by Victorious Racing & Fawzi Nass, turned in an excellent performance at Goodwood to double her winning tally under a penalty, giving the impression that much better races await her in future. Duty First, trained by Bradsell’s trainer Archie Watson, won a Novice at Ayr before finishing second in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes. Conditions were against her on the day and she’ll certainly be looking to go one better next time. Two-year-olds Force & Valour and Mission Command, both purchased by Oliver and trained by George Scott, have also been in the winner’s enclosure.

Arthur Dobell is also having a fantastic season, headlined by the excellent Searchingtheblues who remains unbeaten having won 2 races for trainer Mark Usher, her second being by ten lengths under a penalty, and she will be looking to make her mark in Black Type races before too long. Bought for just 19,000 Guineas from Tattersalls Somerville Sales 23, Searchingtheblues has already won £50,000 in prize money. Arthur also purchased Nazron, who has proved another great success and broke the track record at Windsor when winning during the Racing League.
