Glen Force takes King’s Cup

Gleneagles 4 year old colt GLEN FORCE won his third race in a row when taking the most prestigious race in the Bahrain racing calendar – The King’s Cup over 2,400m by 1.75 lengths.

Ridden by Adrie de Vries and trained by Fawzi Nass, Glen Force was bought by Oliver at the 2020 Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale for 160,000 Guineas out of Sir Mark Prescott’s stable. Sir Mark has been a good source for Oliver and Fawzi having previously purchased Krypton Factor from him before he went on to win the Group 1 Golden Shaheen in Dubai.

Oliver had earlier also won the premier Mile race in Bahrain when BALESTRA (by Bated Breath) stormed to victory in the Al Methaq Mile. He was a 70,000 Guineas purchase by Oliver at the 2018 Tattersalls July Sales for Shaikh Sultan’s Al Mohamediya Racing.

Fawzi Nass took the Championship race for Local bred horses when winning their version of the King’s Cup with PACO MAN – they also had the second, third & fourth in the race for good measure. Paco Boy was conceived at Fawzi Nass’s Aislabie Stud in Newmarket, England, born at Fawzi’s stud in Bahrain and trained for by Fawzi for his son Abdulla. The only thing Fawzi didn’t manage was to ride the 4 year old gelding!
