Team OSL enjoyed an extraoridary day at Newbury at the weekend when enjoying a group race double, which included a performance by Sakheer that left his owners dreaming of Classic Races.
The day started in style when Mitbaahy won the Group 3 World Trophy after a fantastic ride by David Egan. Mitbaahy, purchased by OSL for just £50,000 in 2020, has done nothing but improve all year and will head to either the Abbaye or the Champions Sprint on Champions Day. Whichever he goes to, he’s had a fantastic season and it was wonderful to see such a genuine horse gain a thoroughly deserved first victory at Group level.
Then, in the very next race, Sakheer produced a stunning performance to land the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes by 3.5 lengths for KHK Racing. The markets certainly appreciated his run as he earned quotes of 12-1 for the 2000 Guineas next year, and judging on that the world is certainly his oyster! Sakheer was purchased by OSL at the Arqana Deauville May Breeze Up Sale.
