A highly successful winter for all at team OSL, the main highlights being victory in the Group 2 UAE Oaks for the unbeaten Manama Gold, and Fawzi Nass being crowned champion trainer in Bahrain again with 49 wins in the 2023/24 season.
Manama Gold, who was bought by Oliver and Fawzi at the Ocala Breeze ups, was one of the years standouts, winning the Group 2 UAE Oaks very well and remaining unbeaten in the process. She’ll be moved to the USA for the 2024 Summer season with great hopes for her future.
There were other winners in Dubai as well, with particular highlights being Military Artist, who also managed to add wins at Jebel Ali as well on top of his performances in Meydan, and Watch My Six who managed to win off the back of a two year lay off which was an excellent training performance from Fawzi Nass. Tactical Bound was another great performer, managing to place in four of his five runs including a strong third In the listed Al Bastakiya Stakes.
Calif was another success story having been purchased at the Arqana Arc Sale, coming third in the Neom Cup on Saudi Cup night and managing to run into the prize money in the Dubai Turf on Dubai World Cup night.
On top of all these, there were a great number of winners in Bahrain purchased by OSL and trained by Fawzi Nass, including but not limited to Fleet Admiral, Nation Wide (who won a local Grade 2), Buffer Zone, Bleak, Tawaraaq and Rollajam who won two races each.
We must also mention Rocket Rodney, purchased by Oliver privately, who managed to win the Al Riffa Cup, a part of the Bahrain International series, for trainer George Scott and Victorious Racing.
Overall, a fantastic season with many winners at all levels and we hope this momentum can be carried through into the European Summer.
